
You’re in the market for a new Cadillac and considering the 2020 CT6 and the CT6-V but not sure which one is right for you. To help in the decision making, consider what each has to offer as well as the differences between them.
Exterior Style
Both models are elegant in design. The 2020 CT6 is considered Cadillac’s largest luxury sedan and is available in three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum. The 2020 CT6-V offers the same in high-end luxury and upscale technology as the CT6. It is available in one trim and has the designation of a high-performance sedan.
The exterior of the CT6 is enhanced with available features such as a panoramic power sunroof, LED exterior lighting, heated outside mirrors, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The CT6-V comes with standard exterior enhancements such as a spoiler, a chrome rear bumper insert, a black grille surrounded with chrome, heated door mirrors, a chrome tip exhaust, and a power open and close trunk.
Interior
Both the CT6 and CT6-V accommodate five passengers in spacious interiors and come standard with a variety of features. A few of these include a power sunshade, a keyfob trunk/door release, remote keyless entry, memory seats, steering wheel memory, cruise control with steering wheel controls, a navigation system, and a power glass tilting and sliding sunroof.
Entertainment
Both the CT6 and CT6-V are equipped with entertainment features such as first-row LCD monitors, a voice-activated radio, wireless phone connectivity, an AM/FM radio, and smart device integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 34 speaker Bose Panaray sound system creates a surround sound experience.
Power
Engine power is impressive for both models. The CT6 base model is equipped with a 3.6-liter V-6. The engine produces 335 horsepower at 6,800 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 284 pound-feet of torque at 5,300 rpm. The second engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V-8 producing 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2020 CT6-V takes power to a higher level fitted with a 4.2-liter Blackwing Twin Turbo V-8 engine that delivers 550 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 640 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 rpm. The all-wheel-drive trim is also mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual. The sedan can go from standing still to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
Fuel Economy
The Cadillac models are competitive when it comes to fuel economy. The 2020 CT6 3.6-liter engine gets 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway for a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg. The CT6-V gets 14 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, resulting in an estimated combined fuel economy of 19 mpg.
Safety Features
Both the CT6 and CT6-V are fitted with a variety of safety features to support confidence when driving in town and on the open highway. Standard safety features include driver and passenger air bags, front side air bags, curtain air bags, and an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
