If you’re looking for a spacious and versatile midsize SUV, the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer should be at the top of your list. It’s offered in L, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier trim levels, and with three engines and the option of all-wheel drive, there’s sure to be a Blazer to suit your lifestyle.
1. Exterior Styling
The Blazer features a sporty Camaro-inspired design that really sets it apart from the many run-of-the-mill midsize SUVs on the market. The L trim has ultra-slim LED daytime running lights, high-intensity discharge headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed door handles and heated power mirrors, and LED tail lamps.
The 1LT has deep tinted glass, while the 3LT offers auto-dimming mirrors with turn signals, black roof rails, and a power programmable liftgate. 2. Power and Performance
Under the hood of the L and 1LT trims is a smooth running 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. Powering 2LT and 3LT models is a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
Optional for these models and standard for the RS and Premier trims is 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available with the more powerful engines. With the V-6 engine and the available tow package, you can tow up to 4,500 pounds.
3. Interior Design
The Camaro inspiration carries over to the stylish cabin of the Blazer, which feels more like a sports car than an SUV. With a full load of five passengers, you have 30.5 cubic feet of space for your gear. Folding the rear seats down gives you 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space.
With the L trim, you get keyless entry and start, premium cloth seating, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The infotainment system features an 8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, voice command, a Wi-Fi hot spot, USB ports, and six-speaker audio.
The 1LT adds a power driver’s seat and satellite radio, while the 3LT features remote start, perforated leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, and heated front seats. The RS has an automatic heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a 120-volt power outlet, and navigation. The luxurious Premier trim adds cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.
4. Safety Features
Standard driver assistance features include traction control, electronic stability control, an HD rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system with tire fill alert, and a young driver system. The 3LT adds lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross-traffic warning, and rear park assist.
Optional features are available, including frontal collision warning, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, a safety alert seat, and HD surround vision.
