Engine problems temecula, ca

Engine problems can develop over time due to worn or damaged components. These types of problems affect even the performance of Cadillac. Fortunately, your Cadillac dealership has the trained technicians to quickly and efficiently fix any potential issue. These are some of the issues that we can repair.

3 Engine Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Cadillac Dealership

Clogged Air Filter

Your engine requires enormous amounts of air for combustion, and this air has to be as clean as possible. Air enters through the radiator grille and passes into the engine air filter. This filter traps dust and dirt, allowing the now-clean air to pass into the engine. As time passes, the filter will become clogged with dirt, and this affects engine performance.

A lack of air will turn your engine fuel-rich. A fuel-rich engine can cause misfiring or stalling, and will also damage engine components like the spark plugs and ignition coils. If this issue isn’t corrected, it can even result in damage to the cylinders and pistons. We can easily correct this and prevent any damage by replacing the air filter.

Loose Battery Cables

The battery has the vital role of supplying the electrical charge that starts your engine. The battery is connected to the electrical system by two battery cables that are tightly screwed onto the positive and negative battery terminals. The cables must be as tightly connected as possible, as electricity can’t flow through a gap.

When you’re driving, the battery cables can move very slightly. Over time, these movements can result in a gap forming between the cables and the terminals. This gap won’t damage the battery, but it can cause starting problems or even prevent your engine from starting. Our technicians will check the battery connections and securely tighten them again to fix this issue.

Illuminated Engine Light

Your engine contains a vast number of sensors, and each sensor is connected to an important component. These sensors monitor the health and condition of their connected component and relay this information to your car’s computer. The sensors are very sensitive and can easily identify minute performance issues with their connected component.

If an issue is detected, the relevant sensor will warn your computer, and the computer will illuminate a warning light. If the engine light illuminates, this signals a problem with one of the engine components. We identify the problem by connecting your computer to our diagnostic system, as this reveals the engine issue identified by the computer. We’ll trace the problem and repair it.

A problem in the engine will grow worse as time passes and this can lead to additional damage. Contact our service department today at Paradise Cadillac in Temecula, CA, and we’ll fix it for you.
